5 big takeaways from The Boys Season 2 trailer

The official trailer for The Boys Season 2 is out. Here are our biggest takeaways from the trailer, including what to expect from Stormfront.

The Boys Season 2 has already had a couple of teaser trailers and some sneak peeks. None of them really told us what the plans for the characters were. The Boys Season 2 trailer changes much of that.

We get to see what Butcher wants to do now that he’s found out his wife is still alive. We have the chance to see what Stormfront is possibly really up to. And then there’s the look at which side Starlight is choosing.

It’s time to breakdown the trailer, getting a look at the top moments. Before we do that, you’ll want to see The Boys Season 2 trailer:

Let’s get straight down to business.

5. Butcher wants his wife back

First things first; we know now that Butcher is on a mission to get his wife back. Now that he knows she’s alive, he will do whatever it takes to find her again. Vought is holding her somewhere, which was possibly for her protection against Homelander but also possibly for their own gain.

What plan does Butcher have in mind? Only to take down the whole of Vought. What else is new?

4. The Female isn’t on the “Wanted” list

Next up, we’re still reminded that Butcher, Hughie, Mother’s Milk, and Frenchie are all on the Most Wanted list. The Female still isn’t listed, which gives her a chance to help Butcher out. She will want to take down Vought, especially if she learns that it was Vought that made her into the woman that she is.

Hopefully, this means we get to see more of The Female during The Boys Season 2. The character wasn’t used enough in the first season but for some understandable reasons. There were a lot of characters to introduce. Now we have time to explore the character more.

3. Starlight is definitely on The Boys’ side

Most of the promotional material has shown Starlight on the side of The Seven. We’ve had to question what this actually means. Has she decided Vought’s way is the best?

Oh no! She’s playing Vought. She’s working with The Boys in a number of clips in the trailer. This is a woman who wants to bring goodness to the world, and she was devastated to learn what The Seven was really like. It’s going to be fun to see her try to be the good Supe in the bunch.

2. Stormfront has a diabolical plan

It seems like only Starlight remains on the side of good. Stormfront has a brilliant entrance, but we get to see more of her from The Boys Season 2 trailer. It’s a chance to see what she’s really up to.

It looks like she’s just as diabolical as Homelander. This is a Supe who wants to create an army of Supes to take down the villains. Or is it possible that she’s one of the villains and wants to bring them into her army? It looks like she wants to build up some sort of empathy from her fans, going as far as getting Homelander to injure her for show.

1. We have no idea what Queen Maeve is going to do

Queen Maeve had some interesting development throughout The Boys Season 2. There’s a heart there, but she’s lost some empathy along the way. Being around Homelander, The Deep, and others would do that to someone. However, by the end of the first season, it looked like she wanted to change.

Will that happen in the second season? That’s hard to call. She’s barely focused on in the trailer. We’ll have to wait and see what’s to come for the Wonder Woman of the Seven.
