The Crown Season 4 gets release date and teaser trailer

Things have been quiet when it comes to The Crown Season 4, but we now have a release date and teaser trailer.

When the coronavirus pandemic started, The Crown had just days to finish filming its fourth season. Instead of shutting down right away, filming pushed on to wrap everything up. Now we have a teaser trailer and release date for The Crown Season 4.

The fourth season will debut on Netflix on Sunday, Nov. 15. While most Netflix releases happen on Fridays, there are the odd ones that come out on a Sunday. The Last Kingdom Season 4 was one of them, and now The Crown Season 4 is getting a similar release. There’s no need to worry about what this means for the future of the series as we already know the fifth and sixth seasons are confirmed.

The teaser trailer doesn’t give too much away about the season, except making it clear that two major focuses are Margaret Thatcher becoming Prime Minister and Diana Spencer marrying Prince Charles. At the end of the teaser is a shot of Diana from behind in her iconic wedding dress. We don’t get to see a full look at the actors in their roles, but just the side glimpses and from the back, Gillian Anderson and Emma Corrin fit the roles.

What to expect in The Crown Season 4

During the teaser, we get just a glimpse of the things to expect. Queen Elizabeth II is telling someone that duty will always come first. It’s all about the position that they are in as the Royal Family. This is likely towards Prince Charles, who wanted to marry Camilla instead of Diana. Of course, it could be aimed at Princess Margaret, who has always tried to follow her heart instead of her duty as queen, partially because she was the “spare.”

There is some hope that the show will focus on the paparazzi’s role in Diana’s mental health decline. While more of that happened toward the end of her life, it did start before her marriage to Prince Charles.

The Crown (The Complete First Season) [The Platinum Edition]
This is the last season with Olivia Colman, Tobias Menzies, and Helena Bonham Carter in the roles of Queen Elizabeth, Prince Philip, and Princess Margaret. We know Imelda Staunton will become Queen Elizabeth II and Jonathan Pryce is Prince Philip in the final two seasons of the series. Lesley Manville will take on the role of Princess Margaret, while Elizabeth Debicki will take on the role of Diana, Princess of Wales.
