Will The Expanse Season 6 come to Amazon Prime Video in 2021?
All eyes are on when The Expanse Season 6 will be released on Amazon Prime Video. Is it possible it could arrive in 2021?
The Expanse Season 6 is going to be a bittersweet season. It’s the final season of the series. No, Amazon didn’t cancel it. The creators of the series chose to bring it to an end to avoid dealing with the time jump that happens in the books. We can respect that decision here at Channel Watchers, and it leaves us excited to see how the writers are wrapping up the story.
The question for many is when the story will end up being wrapped up. Will we get to see the sixth and final season in 2021?
It is possible, but it’s not yet guaranteed. Let’s take a look at what we know.

The Expanse Season 6 has reportedly finished filming
The show only started filming back in February 2021, but according to Moviesr.net, filming is complete. Filming of the final season wrapped at the beginning of May, so the show is now in the post-production stage.
With the type of show, post-production will take some time. However, depending on how long it takes, it is certainly possible that the season could premiere in December 2021 to match the premiere of the fourth and fifth seasons on Amazon.
There are chances that the series will get the hybrid release that Season 5 got. This means the first three episodes will drop at once and then the rest of the episodes will air weekly. It’s a model that a few shows have received on Amazon, including The Boys and Invincible, and most of the releases have been a show’s decision and not Amazon’s.
We’ll be sure to let you know when the season will arrive on Amazon Prime Video as soon as we know.
