The Lord of the Rings Amazon series gets 2022 premiere date
There is still a big wait, but we finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. The Lord of the Rings is coming to Amazon in 2022.
We had hoped there was a chance that The Lord of the Rings would arrive in 2021. However, those hopes have been dashed with the latest news. The series and Amazon have set the date, and we’re waiting until next year.
While there is a big wait, we do know that it’s going to be worth it. The show also revealed a first-look at the series, which certainly sets the tone for the quality of the graphics. Again, it’s all going to be worth it!

The Lord of the Rings series premiere on Amazon Prime Video
The show won’t come until fall 2022. We’re waiting until Friday, Sept. 2, 2022.
It will be 100% exclusive to Amazon Prime Video globally, and everyone will get to see it at the same time. The episodes will be released weekly on Amazon Prime Video. Sorry for those who like a binge-watch. You’ll need to wait until all episodes have aired for that. And no, it’s not going to lead to the show’s cancellation. The weekly releases have actually helped shows!
The Lord of the Rings isn’t yet the official title of the series. We also don’t know when or where the series is really set (except that it’s before the books and movies), or who the character is in the first-look image. The series refuses to share any information, which only makes us more excited for the series.
Filming has wrapped on the first season now. Yes, that means it’s 13 months of post-production work. Judging by the graphics, that really isn’t all too surprising.
The good news is there’s a second season already confirmed. Hopefully, we won’t have to wait as long for that one to come to Amazon Prime Video!
