The Umbrella Academy Season 4 is likely the end

The Umbrella Academy Season 4 isn’t confirmed yet, but there’s a chance that if it happens, it’s the last of the series.

Right now, we don’t know if The Umbrella Academy* Season 4 is going to happen. Netflix is still yet to confirm its renewal or not. The third season finale does work as a series finale, but it was clear there was more to the story.

Series creator Steve Blackman has told TVline that he has pitched Netflix the fourth season. He even has the beginning, middle, and end all worked out. He knows how the storylines will wrap up. He also says that he only has four seasons in mind. This is despite Gerard Way having more ideas for the comic series.

Will The Umbrella Academy Season 4 happen on Netflix?

The question now is whether Netflix will want to renew the series. This is going to depend on the success of the third season. Were the ratings strong enough? One of the big things working against The Umbrella Academy was the minimal marketing that the season was coming back.

Blackman also notes that Netflix may want to go further than four seasons. He doesn’t know the streamer’s plan for the series, but he does know that he has four seasons in mind. That’s the way it has always been.

The fourth season would need to pick up where we left the Hargreeves siblings. The original seven were back and Sloane from the Sparrows was missing. All of them had lost their powers, while Reginald watched them from up high with his wife by his side. Why would he do that to them? Does he believe that a lack of powers is the best thing for them? That’s what we need to find out.
