How many episodes are in The Wheel of Time Season 2?

The Wheel of Time Season 2 is happening, and filming is complete. Now all eyes are on when it will arrive. Also, just how many episodes are in the season?

We don’t have a clue as to when The Wheel of Time* Season 2 will premiere on Prime Video just yet. We’ll just put that out there right away. Filming is complete, but the show has a lengthy post-production process. There is a chance we could see it before the end of the year, but we’re potentially looking at early 2023 instead.

This is likely a show to get the hybrid release that the first season did. That means the first three episodes will drop at once and then there will be a weekly release for the rest of the season. You’ll want to know the episode count so you know when the binge-watch will be possible.

The Wheel of Time Season 2 episode count

The season will have eight episodes, just like the first season. There are arguments that eight episodes isn’t enough to fit in the whole universe, but this is becoming a standard episode count for Prime Video shows. It makes binge-watching more manageable—you either want a binge-watch or you want standard shows; you can’t have both!

This will mean six weeks of new episodes if Prime Video follows the same format as the first season. The first three episodes will drop at once, and the remaining five will be released weekly.

While most of the story is set to follow the second book in the series, there are hints that we’ll get some storylines from other books. This makes sense if some storylines are condensed. We’re more curious to see how the change to who plays Mat is going to be handled in the show.
