Them: Covenant Episode 5 is the hardest episode of the lot

While the whole of Them: Covenant has some horrific moments, Episode 5 is the one that stands out as the worst.

There is a trigger warning before the start of this episode. Going into it, you know it’s going to be worse than the first four episodes, and it’s not like they didn’t have some difficult moments. However, Episode 5 is the one that warrants the trigger warning.

And it’s still probably not enough. The problem was going into the episode not really knowing why that trigger warning is there. Usually, you can expect some sort of violence, usually sexual violence, or maybe even lynching considering the topic of the show.

In the end, it’s all about harm to a child.

What does Them: Covenant Episode 5 show?

We’re not going into details about the episode. If you’ve seen it, you probably don’t want to picture it again. If you haven’t seen it, it’s probably because people have told you to avoid it.

The whole episode gives a lot of backstory on the real estate’s actions and that cop who seemed too good to be true. These parts of the episode are worth watching. The part that is a problem is when we return to North Carolina at the beginning of the series.

It’s time to find out what happened to Lucky and Henry’s son. We knew he died, but not exactly how. And the episode got graphic and traumatic in nature.

One thing that it does is offer us a little more empathy for Lucky. It’s no wonder she seems just a shell of what she was that morning at her North Carolina house. I think any mother would be the same.
