CBS has made a decision about the freshman drama True Lies. Will the series be renewed for a second season, or has it been canceled?

CBS is finalizing plans for the 2023-2024 season. It all started with SWAT being canceled at the weekend, but that cancellation was quickly reversed. The show has now been renewed for a seventh and final season. With the reversal, we got some news about the remaining shows on the network.

One of those was fellow movie reboot True Lies. CBS has seen success with TV show and movie reboots in the past, but would this one also find its footing quickly?

True Lies is canceled after one season

There is some bad news for fans of the series. Deadline reports that True Lies Season 2 is definitely not happening. The network has canceled the show after just one season, and in a way this isn’t surprising.

The show just didn’t find its audience. The live ratings were down week after week, and that never bodes well for a series. It means that the Season 1 finale that aired earlier this week is now the series finale. Of course, that means a cliffhanger ending of sorts.
