Vikings: Valhalla has dropped on Netflix, and you’ll certainly hear some familiar names. Is the series set in the same world as Vikings on History?
If you’re waiting for The Last Kingdom Season 5, you’ll be happy to hear that there is another TV series set around the same time period available. It’s all about Vikings: Valhalla right now.
The series comes from Jeb Stuart, but there is one particular name within the EPs that will stand out. Michael Hirst is that name. Fans of Vikings will know it as Hirst was the showrunner and sole writer on the series.
When you start watching the episodes of the new Netflix series, there are some character names you’ll recognize. Ragnar, Ivar the Boneless, Lagatha…they are all names that stand out (and they’re not alone). In fact, there’s even a familiar face that pops up.
Vikings: Valhalla is a Vikings spin-off
There is a good reason for Vikings: Valhalla to include these names. The series is a spin-off of the History series.
Valhalla is set 100 years after the events of the Vikings Season 6 finale ($). That means you won’t see most of the characters from the original series. And we see most because there is one character that has popped up.
The Seer has been in a few episodes. How is this possible when the Seer is dead? This is all thanks to the superstitions and the belief of visions in the world. It’s not like we didn’t see the Seer after he had died in the original series! The Seer pops up for a couple of characters to help guide them on their paths.
Could more of the original characters show up? I guess it is possible, but this series is about continuing the Vikings storyline so it’s unlikely.
