You’ve likely binged your way through Vikings: Valhalla Season by now. Will there be more? Is Vikings: Valhalla Season 3 happening?
If you haven’t already started watching Vikings: Valhalla yet, you need to right now. The series promises to tell us the story of the end of the Nordic people, across Europe, Asia, and beyond. That means we need a third season, right?
All eyes are on whether Netflix will renew the series or not. The streamer has a very bad habit of canceling shows at the moment. Just look at the recent cancelation of Uncoupled. Well, there is some good news for fans of the Vikings spin-off.
Vikings: Valhalla Season 3 is officially happening at Netflix
When Netflix ordered the series, it was for 24 episodes. The first season had eight of those episodes, which immediately suggested that there would be two more seasons. We assumed Netflix would follow the pattern of eight episodes per season.
That was confirmed back in 2022. We learned Season 2 was happening. In fact, by the time of the confirmation, the season had finished filming! The news confirmed that Vikings: Valhalla Season 3 would happen and was filming at the time. Yes, the show is currently filming and will likely be ready for early 2024 or even late 2023.
What can we expect in the third season? There was a lot of drama at the end of the second season. Without giving away too many spoilers, it looks like Harald’s attraction to a certain future empress could lead to an international war and Olaf likely hasn’t stopped his attack on Freydis just yet.
