The CW is finally making some decisions about its 2023-2024 slate. Will Walker Independence Season 2 be part of the slate?

We are finally getting to know about The CW shows. After Nexstar acquired the network, All American was the only show to land a quick renewal. And that was only because the show was part of the agreement for Nexstar to take over. Nexstar made it pretty clear that not many other shows would make it through.

That didn’t stop us from holding out some hope that Walker Independence would get a second season. The CW has now decided, but is it good news or bad?

Is Walker Independence Season 2 happening at The CW?

It is bad news for fans of the period drama. Walker Independence is officially canceled, according to TVLine.

When you consider Nexstar’s warning, this isn’t surprising. However, the live ratings were strong for the network. The show came in fourth in the total audience and tied sixth in the demo.

The good news is that showrunner Seamus Kevin Fahey made it clear that there was a plan if The CW decided not to renew it. He will shop it around as there is interest with the fanbase and with the studio (CBS Studios). We’ve seen shows get shopped around before, but it’s not always easy to find someone to save it. That doesn’t mean it’s impossible, though.
