We are FINALLY getting some updates about Warrior Season 3. It’s started filming, but we’re not likely to get it until 2023.

Since landing a renewal back in 2021, things have been quiet about Warrior Season 3. It’s certainly had us worried, wondering if the show was quietly cancelled. However, we have had some great news about the series in the last few weeks.

Filming has officially started. On top of that, there are a few new actors joining the series. One of those is Mark Dacascos, who will play the former leader of Long Zii. Fans will remember that the tong was absorbed during the second season and the leader at the time sent to prison—although he managed to escape at the end.

With filming now underway, we also get an update on the release date. It’s not coming any time soon.

Warrior Season 3 will premiere in 2023

TVLine confirmed that we’re not going to see the second season in 2022. With filming only just starting, that isn’t too surprising. A show like this is going to take a year for filming and post-production, so there just wasn’t the time to get it to us before the end of 2022.

Instead, we have to wait until sometime in 2023. HBO Max, which will air the third season instead of Cinemax like the first two seasons, hasn’t confirmed a release date just yet. We don’t even have a month. With filming just starting, we’re looking at summer 2023 at the earliest.

There will be 10 episodes to the season, just like the first two. That’s a good amount of time for a series like this. Any more and we’d need filler content and it wouldn’t work.
