The Calling is a new crime drama heading to Peacock in November. What is the new David E. Kelley series about?

If you’re in the mood for a gritty crime drama, Peacock is going to be the place to turn in November. David E. Kelley is back with another showstopper, and you won’t want to miss out.

The Calling is based on the books by Dror Mishani, and it stars Jeff Wilbusch as Detective Avraham Avraham. He has a case that is going to test his humanity. This particular season is based on the book The Missing File*, and it was originally titled The missing.

The Calling synopsis

Told across 10 episodes, the series starts with a missing boy and a murder. It’s clear that there are secrets in the dark corners of NYC, and Avi will stop at nothing to get to the bottom of the cases. Each victim lives with him in his mind, and while that helps him understand the person, it also causes problems for his everyday life.

Avi knows he is a good cop, but his empathy may get the better of him. Avi is guided by a deep sense of spirituality, which is something you’ll see in the very first episode. The problem is the case is going to make him question everything about himself. Can his colleagues help him remain grounded and figure out the case?
