Grey’s Anatomy Season 20 is officially happening. Will it remain in the fall schedule? When will the season premiere on ABC?
We’ve said goodbye to another season of Grey’s Anatomy, and it did not disappoint. We got a wedding that turned into a non-wedding, a surgery that ended in disaster, and a surprise award for a deserving doctor. Now eyes are on when we’ll get the new season.
You see, there was a major cliffhanger at the end of the finale. Lives are on the line, and one of them is one of Grey Sloan’s own. Don’t worry; we’re not getting into spoilers here, so you have time to watch the episode if you need to.
We’re just looking at the return date. Grey’s Anatomy Season 20 is not part of the fall schedule, which will initially be a surprise to all. However, it’s got nothing to do with ABC’s support of the series and everything to do with job action that’s happening right now.
When will Grey’s Anatomy Season 20 premiere?
Due to the writers strike, ABC has opted not to even hope for episodes to be ready in the fall. Instead of a traditional plan, it’s opting for a fall season filled with unscripted programming. This is going to feel very odd to everyone.
The Grey’s Anatomy Season 20 premiere will happen in January 2024 at the earliest. This will depend on when the shows are able to get back into production. Right now, this job action is set to be a long one because the studios aren’t even talking to each other to even considering bringing anything to the table for the writers.
On top of that, we have more potential job action. SAG could go on strike, which means actors, producers, and more.
