Snowpiercer Season 3 is officially confirmed. With the way the second season ended, we need more now, but when will it arrive on TNT?

Yes, TNT renewed Snowpiercer for a third season ahead of the Season 2 premiere. It was awesome news, knowing that we could watch the second season without fearing a cliffhanger at the end. It’s a shame more TV networks don’t do this for us to avoid unresolved stories.

There are certainly plenty of questions from the finale as well. Some of them involve the people who may or may not be dead, but others involve the 10-car pirate train and what Wilford has in store when the trains reconnect.

Do we know when the season will arrive? How long are we waiting to get answers to our burning questions.

When could Snowpiercer Season 3 premiere on TNT?

TNT hasn’t set a date just yet. That’s not surprising. Filming hasn’t started yet, and then the show would have to go through the post-production. In fact, the show is no where near filming the third season with writing still to happen.

It’s going to take some time. Most TV shows see a 12–14 month turnaround on seasons. Some of them can take 18–24 months. This does depend on a number of factors.

TNT managed to bring us Snowpiercer Season 2 within eight months of the first season premiering. That was linked to the fact that Season 2 started filming straight off the back of Season 1 after the long delay just for the first season to premiere. Don’t expect an eight-month turnaround for Season 3.

Instead, we’re possibly looking at between January and July 2022 for the third season. It’ll be worth the wait.
