The Good Doctor Season 6 has come to an end with the strong finale on May 1. Now we just need to know one thing. When will The Good Doctor Season 7 premiere?

Don’t worry; we have zero spoilers from The Good Doctor Season 6 finale. There is no need to talk about that when it comes to working out a premiere date for the new season. All we needed to know is that the finale has aired and now we’re into the summer hiatus.

This is standard every year. ABC hasn’t set the plan for the fall schedule just yet, but we’re sure to see the Freddie Highmore drama on the list of fall shows again. There is no reason for ABC to change this. That doesn’t mean we’ll get a September premiere date, though.

The Good Doctor Season 7 premiere date predictions

As of writing this, a decision has not yet been made for the writer’s strike. This is going to affect a lot if it goes ahead. There is even talk of it affecting post-production work, which could lead to a lot of delays for all broadcast networks, premium cable networks, and more.

Usually, we would say The Good Doctor Season 7 premiere would be toward the end of September 2023. If the writing strike happens, it will mean there probably won’t be scripts ready for July filming. While the renewal came early enough to get working on the storylines, the scripts probably won’t be ready for the actors.

Even if the scripts are ready, if post-production is halted, it will cause delays on the other side of filming. Filming needs to happen in July for a September premiere. There is a lot that needs to happen before filming even starts.
