We know The Handmaid’s Tale Season 6 is happening. After that ending to Season 5, that’s great news. When will Season 6 happen?

Just like previous seasons, we’ve ended the season with a lot of questions. Don’t worry; we’re not going into spoilers here just in case you haven’t had a chance to watch the episode yet (although you have had a week!). Just know that it’s a big one.

The great news is that we knew this wouldn’t be the last season going into it. The Handmaid’s Tale Season 6 is happening, and that is going to be the final season. There is also talk of a spin-off series based on The Testaments happening, which makes a lot of sense with the direction Season 5 has taken.

So now our eyes are on when Season 6 could arrive. What are the plans?

When will The Handmaid’s Tale Season 6 premiere?

As of right now, Hulu has not confirmed a premiere date. That’s not surprising. Filming hasn’t even started on the season just yet.

We’re looking at 12 months at the very least for the new season. This would be based n the premiere date of season 5. However, we could see a few extra months going off how other seasons (not including the pandemic season) worked. It can take around 18 months between seasons.

With this in mind, we could be looking at a long wait. We may not see the new season in 2023 at all and may have to wait until March 2024. This will all depend on when filming starts.
