Walker is one of two regular shows confirmed as part of the 2023–2024 schedule. When will Walker Season 4 premiere?
When Nexstar took over The CW, it made it clear that renewals were not going to happen for every series. Nexstar wants to make the network profitable, and that means cutting out the shows that aren’t performing that well. Fortunately, Jared Padalecki’s Walker has made it through for another year.
There is a bit of bad news, though. It comes with the episode count being cut. There will only be 13 episodes to the season. Would that mean a delay in the show’s return, or will we get something similar to the way a lot of The CW shows worked this year?
When is the Walker Season 4 premiere?
The CW has opted to hold this series off for the midseason. That’s right; it is nowhere on the list of fall shows. The only original CW series that is on the list is All American, and we may not actually see that show make it through in time. The writers strike could affect that.
Speaking of the writers strike, the delay for the Jared Padalecki series could be a blessing in disguise. Once the writers do return to work and filming starts, there isn’t going to be the pressure to make sure there’s plenty of content for viewers to watch week after week. The deadline is further out, which could help to keep breaks in the schedule to a minimum.
In some bad news, Walker Independence won’t join the series. The prequel spin-off was canceled, although the fight is on to find it a new home.
