Whiskey Cavalier: We love it, but can it realistically last?

Whiskey Cavalier has become my new guilty pleasure on a Wednesday night on ABC. I can’t get enough of it, but what I am wondering is can it realistically last or is the high of the series short-lived?

If you haven’t watched Whiskey Cavalier yet, please make time for it. I’ve talked about it a few times here and to put it simply, it’s a feel good and joyful experience each and every week; one which is suitable for everyone.

From the moment the episode begins I’m hooked. Unlike some other major network shows, I have no urge to be doing something in the background while watching the series, whether it be browsing on social media, answering some e-mails, or just writing right here, I can’t do it. The series has my undivided attention.

But what is keeping me hooked right now I wonder; can it ultimately last? The over the top spy games, humor, and the will-they-won’t-they storyline they currently have going can, I think, can only last for so long.

I hate to say it, but I think the Whiskey Cavalier is in for a short ride. It may get renewed for a secomd season, but I don’t think the stories are there. Which means it will either become repetitive and dull or, they will need to change the concept of the show and risk losing its overall appeal.

I honestly hope the talented writers behind the series come up with some way of keeping the show alive and keeping the appeal I enjoy each and every week. I really do. It would be a huge shame if this was canceled, but if we are honest with ourselves for a moment unless they can figure out how to move past the current storyline successfully, I think their time is numbered.
