FOX brought some bad news over the weekend. Just why is Call Me Kat canceled after just three seasons on the network?
We are at that time of year when networks look at which shows will be canceled and which ones will get another season. It’s always disappointing for fans of the shows canceled, even if we get an idea that this cancellation is going to happen.
When you look at the live ratings, it wasn’t too surprising to hear that Call Me Kat was ending after three seasons. FOX has a habit of canceling shows as the live ratings slip, and that’s what happened here.
Call Me Kat canceled: Why Season 4 isn’t happening at FOX
FOX made it clear that it was all linked to the live ratings, according to TVLine. While the network loved the show, the audience just wasn’t as invested in it as the network hoped. The linear ratings were certainly down from the second season, with the demo down 33% and the audience down 24%. These are considerable drops between the seasons, and it suggests that a bigger drop would happen between Seasons 3 and 4.
The series did honor the late Leslie Jordan in one of the Season 3 episodes. He was one of the series regulars on the series at the time of his shocking death, and so the show allowed the writers, actors, and fans to mourn the loss with a beautiful episode.
