Did Wilford die in the Snowpiercer Season 3 finale?

When Sean Bean comes into a project, we know to expect death. Is that what happened to Wilford in the Snowpiercer Season 3 finale?

Sean Bean doesn’t usually get to live when it comes to a TV series. Whether good or bad, he ends up facing the wrong end of guns, swords, and more. Naturally, we’ve been waiting for something to happen to Wilford that would kill the character off in Snowpiercer.

Would that happen in the Season 3 finale? Was it finally time to remove this threat of a character? Well, Layton and Melanie certainly dealt with him, but not in the way you would expect.

Wilford is still alive in Snowpiercer

In a surprise twist, Melanie initially teamed up with Wilford to take down Layton. Then Melanie and Layton found a way that they could come to a truce. They could offer the people of the train a choice: continue on the train or find New Eden knowing it might not be real. Before they could do that, they needed to take care of Wilford, and Zarah helped with that.

Zarah lured Wilford to where the car that Melanie had survived in for six months sat. Without any of his supporters and no way to get to freedom, Melanie and Layton gave him a chance to live. He could get into the car with the suspension drugs. Melanie had proven that he could live for six months in there.

We don’t get to know what will happen to Wilford for now. Will Melanie go back for him in six months? Will she leave him out in the cold like she thought she did seven years ago? We will have to wait for Season 4 to find out.
