We’re starting to look at which shows are likely to land second seasons or not. Is there a chance Ordinary Joe Season 2 happen?

While there is still time for some networks to make decisions, there are already signs that some shows will be canceled. There are also signs that some shows will be renewed. Which side of the fence will NBC fall on when it comes to the new feel-good series Ordinary Joe?

If you haven’t watched the series yet, you need to start. Ordinary Joe follows James Wolk’s Joe, an ordinary guy who has a decision to make when he graduates college. We see the three decisions that he could have made, and how they would have a knock-on effect in his life and the lives of the people around him.

Will Ordinary Joe Season 2 happen?

It’s hard to say whether NBC is going cancel or renew this show. Looking initially at the live TV ratings, I’d say no. Mondays at 10/9c aren’t great for the network. However, there are factors to consider overall for the network.

This Is Us is coming to an end after Season 6. That means during the 2021–2022 TV season. NBC will want a show that’s like that in the 2022–2023 season, and Ordinary Joe fits that. It could keep the show around for another season, potentially moving it to the midseason to a better timeslot.

On top of that, there’s a good chance The Blacklist is going to end after the current season. It’s lost its lead female and its creator. I was surprised the show even got a ninth season. It looks like Season 9 is going to be a wrap-up one.

With two long-running shows coming out, there’s going to be space to keep Ordinary Joe and bring in new shows.

Plus, the ratings are ticking up currently. It looks like the live ratings have stabilized, and there are always the delayed viewings. All this working together might just help this show get renewed.
