There’s no doubt that You is popular, but it also needs an ending. Will we get You Season 5 on Netflix, or is the series canceled?
There are some great shows on Netflix. It’s not often that we get past the third or fourth season of shows, though. It’s not surprising then that there are fears that You would be abruptly canceled.
There is some good news. Netflix has decided on the fate of the Penn Badgley series, and it is good news. You* Season 5 is officially happening.
You Season 5 will be the end of the Netflix series
Netflix also shared that this is going to be the last season of the series. That’s not surprising with things that Badgley had recently shared about the show. This is one of those that requires an ending, and we need to see justice for all those killed and hurt by Joe throughout the four seasons currently on the air. The ending to the fourth season was definitely not justice.
Admittedly, the end of the fourth season was realistic. Money does buy everything. Terrible people get away with a lot in the world when they have money.
However, there is some bad news when it comes to those running the show. Sera Gamble is stepping down as showrunner after four seasons on the series. Instead, Michael Foley and Justin W. Lo will take over showrunning duties, according to TVLine. The two are currently EPs on the series, so they have been with the story for some time, but it’s still disappointing that Gamble won’t be running the show for the final season.
Gamble’s decision is due to workload rather than creative differences. She is stepping back to focus on other projects. Those who have followed Gamble for some time will know that she is a busy woman. While running You, she was also co-showrunner on The Magicians for some time.
